Why Aberdeen ?
Just read on Neepheids Blog that his car got broken into recently.
As well as feeling sorry for the bloke it has raised a couple of semi-dormant issues.
In the past three years I have had my car broken into four times, the stereo stolen three times, wing mirrors kicked off twice, the bonnet and roof "ran over" once and have generally had absolutely no joy with the police response.
Mind you the residual effects on my routine, wallet and insurance premiums have been quite spectacular.
The last time my stereo got nicked I was informed that they had caught the blighter and he was due in court over it. Of course he had no idea where my stereo etc was when they apprehended him and it later transpired he got let off with it.
Why is it that for such a small "provincial" city compared with the other larger cities I frequently visit in my car there are so many incidents ?
I know its got bugger all to do with the type of car as these incidents have happened to three different cars.
I know its not where I was parked as each incident happened in different, contrasting areas of the city.
I also understand that every city has its problems but it seems to me that the Aberdonians seem to turn a blind eye to the issues on their own doorstep, that is until they have first hand involvement with the consequences.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Well thats what you get for hsving such flashy shit in your car :D
Aha but that's what you think!
The stereo, TomTom etc are all removed when I park my wagon up out of habit! I'll try anything to dissuade the blighters from furtling with my baby ie
the Thatcham Cat 1 alarm / immobiliser,
removing owt when I park up,
parking in my garage,
parking under a streetlight etc,
my disclock,
Leaving the (empty) glovebox open.
Paranoid ? possibly
Sensible ? definately.
